Overview[]

The Pagani Zonda R is a mid-engine track day car produced by Pagani Automobili S.p.A., with Pagani's CEO and founder Horacio Pagani designing the car. The world got a first look at the car during the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, and from 2009 to 2011, 15 units have been produced (5 Revolucion cars and the prototype also produced). It is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.0 L Mercedes-Benz M120 V12, with the M297 variant of the engine being placed into the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR. Due to the car not being street legal, it competes with other track-based cars, like the McLaren P1 GTR and the Maserati MC12 Corsa.

It may look like a normal Pagani Zonda to the average enthusiast, but the Zonda R is in a league on its own. Only 10% of the parts from the Zonda F are shared with the Zonda R. The car supposedly holds some components and was testing them for the Zonda's successor, the Pagani Huayra.

Driving Simulator[]

The Pagani Zonda R appears as one of the 5 new vehicles in the Visual Customization update. It bears a new name, being the Pazari Viento. It is a high-tier supercar, though it appears at the low end. The car is not bought like most other vehicles; instead it is unlocked by obtaining a 60 day daily streak. Its stats are crazy for the Supercar class, allowing it to rival hypercars like the Porsche 917K, Lamborghini Centenario, and Saleen S7.

Performance[]

The Zonda can be considered an upgrade to the other Pagani, the Huayra. It offers the same style of stats, but amplified. It features great handling, though it is long (somewhat hampering this), a high top speed, and relatively poor brakes, which can cause issues when needing to slow down. While the Huayra is pretty good in acceleration, the Zonda is much quicker. To compare, the Zonda goes nearly as fast as a maxed Huayra at stock. This basically makes the it the best supercar in the class, beating the slower-accelerating 917K for the crown.

Due to this, it can be compared to hypercars. Not lower end ones such as the F1, but more mid tier ones, such as the S7 and Centenario. It closely compares to the S7, having high handling. It accelerates slightly faster than the S7, though the S7 has an edge in that it is faster and has a high brake stat.

Rear end of the Zonda R.

It is generally inferior to the Centenario, which accelerates faster to a higher top speed, and while it turns less with lower handling, it is smaller, allowing it to not require as much turning as the longer Zonda needs.

Trackwise, the Zonda is good for everything. High speed gives it power on Around the World, and excellent handling helps in Downtown Race. It may struggle on Into the Mountains and Northern Rally due to weaker braking, but in the right hands, it's a force to be reckoned with. Overall it is a great all-rounder, but in most cases, not one worth going for. Remember, it requires 2 months of constant, daily playing, with absolutely NO missing days, to unlock the Zonda R. At the same time, it is likely players will gather enough money (mainly through racing even after beating tasks) to get upgrades for the Zonda (which amount to almost 1.75M) or buy a better car. In fact, it is possible to grind a great amount of money should players have a good car for Downtown Race or Around the World, which likely would get a car that would circumvent the need for the Zonda R. Certainly a great car, but probably not worth the time requisite.
